Hello, I'm Amy and welcome to my blog The Interstellar Butterfly. I have often wondered whether I should set up a blog for quite some time and have recently decided to do so for many reasons. This blog was primarily set up for me to enjoy writing away at my desk and getting lost in my thoughts.
I have always had an interest and passion for writing. From a young age, I could be seen buried in a book, visiting the local libraries and hand-writing my own short stories and magazines. I don't think I could imagine my life without books!
Writing is a way for me to express how I'm feeling without any judgement. The ability to write until my heart is content allows me to switch off from the outside world and focus on my imagination - letting it run wild!
Reading also plays a key part in this - exploring a whole new world within the pages of a book allows me to really get involved with what I am reading. I'd love to be a writer myself, although I haven't a clue which direction to follow to pursue this. That's where my blog comes in. The Interstellar Butterfly will be my own little world where I can write away without a care in the world.
I plan to share with you my own short stories, book reviews and the odd 'writing ramble'. In the foreseeable future, I plan to write about literary locations including William Shakespeare and Stratford-upon-Avon, JK Rowling and Edinburgh, and Lewis Carroll and both Oxford and Llandudno.
I won't have a set schedule for when I post however, I will aim to upload once or twice a week - even if it is just a short piece of writing. Additionally, I have set up an Instagram page under the same name to connect with readers on social media and allow them to create an image of the world or environment I am writing about through pictures.
Every post or piece of writing will be original and created by myself. If you would like to share any of my stories or reviews elsewhere, you are more than welcome to with the appropriate credit to my blog.
If you have any suggestions for future posts on this blog, feel free to get in touch on this blog site or alternatively on my dedicated Instagram page.
